Classification, Labelling & Packaging (CLP)
From 1st June 2015 all substances and mixtures need to be labelled according to EU regulations, based on the Globally Harmonised System (GHS). Despite Britain no longer being a member of the EU, CLP remains a legal requirement, overseen by the Health and Safety Executive.
CLP Regulation requires chemicals to be classified for their hazards and their packaging labelled accordingly.
This means that all wax products bought in the UK need to follow strict labelling guidelines.
You will find on all of our wax products a list of significant sensitisers, along with relevant warnings and precautionary statements. Some of our labels may carry warning symbols, although the majority of items we make (below 125ml) do not require these. You can access our CLP database for each fragrance here.
Every scent we pour has it's own Safety Data Sheet. Whilst some of the information on the labels seems a bit scary, this is entirely for the protection of consumers.
We are always to talk to you about this, should you have any concerns.
If you would like any more information regarding CLP, you can find more information here.
